About me

Your psychologist in New York

A psychologist in conversation with a client during a therapy session

Dr. Rachel Larkspur, PhD

Licensed clinical psychologist · NYS #021473

For over fifteen years I have helped adults, teens, and children move through anxiety, depression, trauma, and OCD with treatments that research shows actually work.

I earned my PhD in clinical psychology and completed advanced training in cognitive-behavioral therapy, exposure and response prevention, and EMDR. Before founding Larkspur Behavioral Health, I worked in hospital outpatient clinics and university counseling centers across New York City.

My style is warm, direct, and collaborative. We'll define clear goals together, track your progress session by session, and adjust the plan as you grow — so therapy always feels purposeful, never open-ended.

How I work

Evidence first

Every treatment I offer — CBT, ERP, EMDR, ACT — is backed by clinical trials. You'll always know why we're doing what we're doing.

Measured progress

Brief, validated check-ins each month show whether symptoms are lifting — and tell us early if we should change course.

Built around you

Faith, culture, family, work — your context shapes the plan. Bilingual evaluations available in English and Spanish.
