Book a ConsultationWhat this service entails
Couples therapy at Larkspur follows structured, research-backed models — including Gottman-informed and emotion-focused approaches. Instead of replaying the same argument, you'll learn to spot your cycle, interrupt it, and repair faster.
Sessions are 60–75 minutes with both partners present. Early on we map your strengths as well as your stuck points, because lasting change is built on what's already working — not only on what's broken.
What's included
- 60–75 minute joint sessions, in person or online
- Parenting and co-parenting support after separation or conflict
- Intercultural and interfaith relationship navigation
- Communication skills training and conflict repair
- Take-home exercises that turn insight into habit
How couples therapy works
Step 01
Understand the cycle
We name the pursue–withdraw loop (or yours) that keeps hijacking good intentions.
Step 02
Practice repair
Guided conversations in session teach you to de-escalate and reach for each other.
Step 03
Protect the gains
Rituals, check-ins, and a shared plan keep the relationship steady after therapy.
Who it helps
- Partners stuck in the same fight, craving calmer communication
- Parents and co-parents who want consistency for their kids
- Intercultural couples bridging different family expectations
Many couples feel a shift within 8–12 sessions. Rebuilding after betrayal or navigating separation takes longer — and deserves its own careful pace.
